Industrial Applications

Our Load Pins, Load Cells, Tension Links, Bolts/Studs and other force sensors are utilized in a wide variety of Industrial applications.

They have been used for decades to support new hardware designs, assembly, testing and control. Applications in the Industrial space encompass a wide range of different functions, specifications and requirements. They range from simple force measurement solutions up to such cutting edge products as large cranes, combines, wind turbines, conveyor belt systems and many others.

The force sensors can be involved in every part of product design, development, assembly, testing and operation. Many of our load cells and load pins are used in large, dynamic projects where multiple companies are involved in the development and integration, and our force sensors help determine forces at many interfacing areas, where the various components come together forming a larger assembly.

Many of these load cell products are then verified prior to use, or further assembly, after shipment across the country or major assembly build up to ensure adequate force preload or distribution is still present. Not only do our products measure force, but many load cells and load pins are designed to be permanently embedded in the system to both carry and measure the force for the life of the product.

Strainsert force sensors are also commonly used for force determination and evaluation of new hardware to determine forces which will be encountered during the life of a crane, turbine or other industrial equipment or to control many millions of loading cycles to verify the expected fatigue spectrum.

Typical Industrial Load Cell Applications Include:

Crane and Hoist Systems, Bin Weighing, Container Weighing, Combines, Winch Systems, Line Tension Systems,  Conveyer Belts, Elevator Force Measurement, Wind Turbines, Dam Forces, Train Coupler Measurement
